From 4 to 31 July 2026, Spazio LOC in Capo d’Orlando will present Ci\u00f2 che resta. Opere, tracce e archivi di Eleonora Gugliotta<\/em> (What Remains. Works, Traces and Archives by Eleonora Gugliotta<\/em>), a solo exhibition by Eleonora Gugliotta, curated by Elena Vukosavljevic for Art4Women – RoadShow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition marks the first presentation of the artist’s work in her hometown of Capo d’Orlando, bringing together a significant selection of projects developed over recent years through installation, photography, organic materials, visual archives, and site-specific interventions. Conceived as a journey through spaces, bodies, and traces, the exhibition brings together different bodies of work which, although produced at different moments in the artist’s career, share a common impulse: an investigation into what remains. What remains are the marks left by places once inhabited, the memories embedded in matter, the fragile presence of the body, and the residual traces of gestures, experiences, and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The works on display move through abandoned environments, sensitive surfaces, and residual materials, constructing a non-linear narrative in which visitors are invited to navigate the exhibition freely. Rather than following a chronological sequence, the exhibition unfolds through thematic clusters, connections, and layers, revealing the complexity of a practice that operates at the threshold between the visible and the invisible, presence and absence, individual and collective memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of the exhibition is Spoglie<\/em> (Remains<\/em>), a body of work in which the human body becomes a fragile and transitory presence, suspended between image, map, and organic trace. Surrounding this central series are works that expand its meaning, including Ambienti<\/em> (Environments<\/em>), textile and photographic architectures exploring the memory of abandoned places; Scorie Microcosmiche<\/em> (Microcosmic Residues<\/em>), which gathers and reworks intimate fragments and discarded materials; together with additional projects that reveal the artist’s process, archival practice, and layered approach to making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ci\u00f2 che resta (What Remains<\/em>) ultimately becomes a journey through what survives, what settles, and what continues to transform. Fragile materials, organic traces, images, and fragments of space come together to form a sensitive archive of human passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleonora Gugliotta (Capo d’Orlando, 1989) is a visual artist whose practice spans installation, photography, performance, video, and socially engaged projects. After studying at the State Art Institute in Capo d’Orlando, she continued her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and later at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she developed an interdisciplinary practice centred on the relationship between body, space, and memory. Working with organic and natural materials such as wool fibres and human hair, Gugliotta explores the intimate dimension of human experience, reflecting on processes of transformation and adaptation, the relationship between individuals and their environment, and the social constructs that shape contemporary life. Her practice balances provocation with irony, engaging viewers in sensory experiences that encourage a critical reading of reality. Her work has been exhibited in museums, cultural institutions, art fairs, and international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale, MACRO \u2013 Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Fondazione Sozzani in Milan, and Paratissima Art Fair in Turin, where she received the Talent Prize in 2019. From 2022 to 2024 she founded and directed the independent art space Atelier Meno 1 in Milan, where she also taught Graphic and Painting Disciplines at several art high schools. After spending more than fifteen years between Palermo and Milan, she now lives and works in Perth, Australia, while maintaining a strong connection to Sicily – her place of origin – which continues to inform and shape her artistic research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
