    OLGA DE AMARAL AT THE FONDATION CARTIER POUR L’ART CONTEMPORAIN IN PARIS

    The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris is presenting the first major retrospective in Europe of Olga de Amaral, a key figure of the Colombian art scene and of Fiber Art. The exhibition, curated by Marie Perennès and coordinated by Aby Gaye, brings together nearly eighty works made between the 1960s and now, many of which have never been shown before outside of Colombia. Beyond the vibrant goldleaf pieces for which the artist is renowned, the exhibition reveals her earliest explorations and experimentations with textile, as well as her monumental works.     NIKI BERLINGUER: THE LADY OF TAPESTRIES

    Until April 6, 2025, the Casina delle Civette in Villa Torlonia (Via Nomentana 70), Rome, is hosting the exhibition “Niki Berlinguer: The Lady of Tapestries”, providing a comprehensive overview of the tapestry production by the renowned weaver and artist. For the first time, this museum space is featuring an exhibition of 20th-century tapestries in dialogue with the Art Nouveau architecture of the stained glass and interiors of this Roman gem.     WEAVING IS HUMAN

    The Museo delle Civiltà presents “WEAVING IS HUMAN. Isabella Ducrot… and the textile collections of the Museum of Civilizations” running through 16thFebruary 2025 at Palazzo delle Arti e Tradizioni Popolari (Piazza Guglielmo Marconi 8, Rome). The exhibition provides an overview ofthe languages and cultures of weaving through an unprecedented dialogue between a selection of textile works from the museum’s historical collections – some rarely or never exhibited before – and works by the artist Isabella Ducrot (Naples, 1931), who draws her inspiration and humanist essence from textiles.
