THE FARM – AUSTRALIA

RESIDENCY FOR VISUAL ARTISTS IN DIALOGUE WITH THE LANDSCAPE

The Farm is one of the most significant artist residency programs in Western Australia. It offers visual artists the opportunity to develop projects that establish a conscious and profound relationship with the land, through an immersive residency lasting between five and eight weeks, to be undertaken between February and October 2026.

With particular attention to site-responsive projects (i.e., those that are sensitive and responsive to context), the residency promotes an environment conducive to creative inquiry, encouraging meaningful connections between the artist, the land, and the local community. The program supports practices grounded in rigorous research, experimentation, and dialogue, paving the way for new perspectives on the landscape and our relationship with it.

The call is open to Australian and international visual artists, both individually and collectively. Given the limited availability of public transport in the area, holding a valid driver’s licence is strongly recommended.

The residency offers:

• A fee of 7,500 AUD
• Self-contained studio accommodation
• Opportunities for mentorship and networking with major arts organisations
• Project support and coverage of initial travel expenses to the property
• Access to spaces such as a gallery, workshop, working farm, and natural bushland, creating a rich and inspiring environment for artistic production

Application deadline: 2 June 2025
