CULTURE MOVES EUROPE: SUPPORT FOR ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL MOBILITY
Culture Moves Europe promotes the mobility of artists and cultural professionals by funding individual and residency projects across all countries participating in the Creative Europe programme.
The initiative is supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
The Individual Mobility scheme offers artists and cultural operators the opportunity to develop a project in collaboration with a partner — either an individual or an organisation — located in a Creative Europe country different from their country of residence. Applications can be submitted either individually or as a group of up to five participants.
Each project must pursue at least two of the following objectives:
• to learn
• to create
• to explore
• to connect
The duration of the project must range from 7 to 60 days for individuals and from 7 to 21 days for groups.
Eligibility is open to those who legally reside in one of the Creative Europe countries, including the Outermost Regions (ORs) and the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs), and who are professionally active in one of the following fields: architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion, literature, music, performing arts, or visual arts.
Applicants who have previously applied for or received a Culture Moves Europe grant in earlier calls (2022–2025) may apply again; however, priority will be given to first-time applicants.
What the grant offers
• Daily allowance: €85 per day
• Travel allowance:
o €400 for distances under 5,000 km
o €800 for longer distances
• Additional top-ups:
o green mobility: €400
o intercontinental or outermost region travel: €175
o family support: €200 per child
o visa support: €120
• Accessibility support: €30 per day (for personal assistance or sign-language interpretation)
Timeline and deadlines
The Call for Individual Mobility 2025–2026 is a rolling call with monthly deadlines.
Applicants will be notified of the results within eight weeks following each monthly deadline.
